The Commission Process

You Tell Us Your Vision
A word, a phrase, a memory, a feeling. Perhaps you want the character for 'Peace' in your meditation room. Or your family name written as a gift. Or a painting of the mountains you saw on your honeymoon.

We Propose. You Approve.
Within 48 hours, we'll send you a creative brief: the character(s) we recommend, the style, the paper, the size. We go back and forth until it's exactly right.

Creation + Film
Once you approve, we create the piece. We film everything — from grinding the ink to the final red seal. This becomes your private documentary.

Delivery
Your piece ships in a silk scroll case with a certificate of authenticity, a QR code linking to your creation film, and a small gift from our studio in Yantai.

You Send an Inquiry
Fill out the form below. Tell us what you're looking for — a word, a painting, a feeling. We'll respond within 24 hours with ideas and a quote.

We Email You a Proposal
We'll send a creative brief: the recommended character or composition, the style, the paper, the approximate size. We go back and forth until it's perfect. No commitment at this stage.

You Receive a PayPal Invoice
Once you approve the proposal, we send a secure PayPal invoice from hello@duzhang.art. You can pay with any credit card or PayPal account. You do not need a PayPal account to pay — Visa, Mastercard, and American Express all work. Payment is due before we begin.

We Create & Film
Your piece is hand-created in our Yantai studio. We film the entire process — from grinding the ink to pressing the red seal. You'll receive progress updates along the way.

Delivered to Your Door
Your piece ships worldwide in a silk scroll case. Inside: the artwork, a certificate of authenticity, a QR code linking to your private creation film, and a small gift from Shandong.
Payment Methods
We accept secure payments via PayPal. Every piece page has a Buy Now button — click and pay with any credit or debit card (Visa, Mastercard, Amex) or your PayPal balance. No PayPal account required. Your purchase is protected by PayPal Buyer Protection. For custom commissions, we send an invoice after you approve the proposal. Full payment before creation begins.
Shipping
We ship worldwide via DHL/FedEx. Shipping typically costs $25–$60 depending on your location and is added to your invoice. Each piece is carefully packaged in a rigid tube with waterproof protection. Delivery takes 5–10 business days after creation is complete. Tracking number provided.
Returns & Refunds
Each piece is a custom, hand-created original. Because every commission is made specifically for you, we cannot accept returns. However, if your piece arrives damaged, we will recreate it at no cost. We document every step of creation and packaging, so you can see exactly how your artwork was made and shipped.
